We are very saddened by the news of Sensei Pantanowitzs' death. Bill and I had the honour and pleasure of riding the monorail in Okinawa with Sensei Pantanowitz. On the first occasion, he was showing us a better stop which another student, from another place, chose to disregard. Bill and I are very grateful that we chose to listen to Sensei. We had the opportunity to listen to him tell us a number of stories of his experiences and perceptions. We were particularly struck by the generosity he displayed in sharing his stories with us.
We have thought of our few brief encounters with Sensei on a number of occasions — always with a sense that we were very privileged by the experience. Sensei was certainly a good teacher. Surely, he must also have been a good friend to you and to many and we are very sorry for your loss and for the loss of his family, I.O.G.K.F., and other friends.
